80-Year-Old 'Careless Driver' Injured In Route 206 Crash: Montgomery PD An 80-year-old Princeton woman was injured and cited for careless driving after causing a two-car crash in Montgomery on Thursday, May 2, authorities said. At 12:52 pm, the woman was driving a 2009 Honda northbound on Route 206 near Applegarth Road when she rear-ended a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was stuck in traffic, Montgomery police said on Facebook. The woman complained of chest pains and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, police said. Trapped Construction Worker Dies In NJ Trench Tragedy: Police A construction worker was killed after he was trapped in a large hole in Kenilworth on the morning of Monday, May 6, authorities said. Around 9 a.m., the construction workers were attempting to install a storm drain in the back of the business on Monroe Avenue using an excavator when the man became trapped, Kenilworth police said.  First responders attempted life saving measures but the worker, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration said it is investigating.

A cow was rescued after being trapped in the mud, the Whitehouse Rescue Squad in Readington said on Facebook.  Whitehouse Rescue Squad At 5:44 p.m., the rescue squad was dispatched to Holland Brook Road near Cole Road and discovered the cow in the mud, approximately 50 yards off the roadway, first responders said. Driver Injured When Truck Overturns On Route 80 In Knowlton: Njsp A truck overturned on Route 80 in Warren County on the evening of Friday, May 3, authorities said. At 10:30 p.m., a Dodge truck was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Knowlton Township when it lost directional control and overturned, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.  The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Overturned Truck Causes Traffic Nightmare On New Jersey Turnpike An overturned truck on the New Jersey Turnpike has snarled the afternoon commute to halt on Friday, May 3. The truck overturned by Exit 13A of the New Jersey Turnpike near Newark Liberty International Airport and Routes 1 and 9 in Elizabeth, according to 511nj.  The left shoulder is blocked and delays are extending three miles from Kearny to Newark, 511nj said. Traffic cameras showed vehicles creeping along the highway as of press time.

Truck Bursts Into Flames Near Route 287 In Finderne Multiple fire departments descended on Somerset County on Friday, May 3, after a tractor trailer caught fire, sending plumes of smoke into the sky. Firefighters responded to Union Avenue near Route 287 in Finderne and were able to extinguish the tractor trailer fire along with three additional cars on the trailer, the Finderne Fire Department said on Facebook. A tractor trailer was engulfed in flames in Finderne. Finderne Fire Department Facebook Manville EMS and the Somerset County Haz-Mat team also responded, firefighters said. There were no reports of any injuries.
