The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Cliffside Park Police Department also released images of a necklace he dropped while fleeing and said they suspect he’s Eastern European.

The string-type necklace has an attached piece of circular black colored cloth with “serv_n” engraved on it. The second-to-last letter is missing.

Investigators believe this is a clue to his name.

Take a good look at the sketch, produced soon after the intruder sexually assaulted the girls — both under 12 — before being chased off by their mother.

He is described as:

White/ light skinned;
• Thin;
18-25 years old;
5’7” to 5’10”;
Brown or dark hair;
Wearing blue jeans, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt

The girls’ mother called police at 6 a.m. Feb. 22 after waking up, interrupting the attacks and chasing the intruder out the front door, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli and Cliffside Park Police Chief Donald Keane said.

“At that time, a passerby in a motor vehicle heard the homeowner screaming to stop” the assailant and ran after him, both men said in a release. Others on the 400 block of Washington Avenue, seeing what was happening, joined in.

The attacker headed west, turned south on Grove Street and then bolted into a backyard at the corner of Lincoln Avenue before vanishing (see map).

Both victims were medically evaluated, treated and released.

Cliffside Park Police are also investigating attempted break-ins in the same neighborhood — the 300 blocks of Washington and Lincoln avenues — moments before the attacks.

If you recognize or know him, authorities insist you don’t approach of confront him in any way. Dial 911 immediately and tell whomever answers what you know.
