RIDGEFIELD, N.J. -- New Ridgefield Deputy Police Chief Robert "Bobby" Meurer was sworn to the post Wednesday night.
Meurer, a former Bergen County Sheriff's officer, is a motorcycle coach and instructor and an adjunct criminal justice professor.
"I am truly blessed and want to thank everyone for their love, support, and confidence in me," the 16-year department veteran said.
Two new police officers also were sworn in -- former specials Fatih Karabiyik and Justin Brito.
Brito is the son of Ridgefield Police Lt. Jose Brito.
