Edgewater Man Slain Execution-Style On Staten Island

EDGEWATER, N.J. -- One of two men killed by a masked gunman with a shot to the back of the head on Staten Island was from Edgewater, the NYPD confirmed early Wednesday.

Michael Genovese, 57, was in a back office of a cash advance business in the Dongan Hills neighborhood of the island's East Shore when he and a 52-year-old colleague were slain execution-style around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.

Nothing was stolen, they said.
