BEYOND BERGEN: A Monmouth County man involved in a road-rage incident while merging into the Holland Tunnel in lower Manhattan got out of his car, unsheathed a small sword and threatened another motorist, said Port Authority police who arrested him on the New Jersey side.
Richardson Rosius, 32, of Eatontown pointed the Wakazashi sword — with a 10½-inch blade — at the other driver and his wife while shouting at them before returning to his 2008 Honda around 2 p.m., the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.
“The sworn was in plain view on the passenger front seat of the suspect’s vehicle when officer stopped him upon exiting the tunnel,” Pentangelo said.
The victim identified Rosius, who “admitted to getting out of the car with the sword in his hand earlier,” he said.
Police charged him with illegal possession of a weapon with the intent to use it, Pentangelo said.
