BOGOTA, N.J. -- A pair of determined Bogota detectives nabbed a bicycle-riding gunman who robbed a local gas station, authorities said Saturday.
Bilal Diggs-Void, 20, of Hackensack was identified through store video by Detectives Victor Negron and Hector Liriano as the hoodie-wearing robber who took an undetermined amount of cash from the Lukoil station on Queen Anne Road near the Route 80 overpass on Sept. 23, Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said.
"The detectives reached out to Hackensack police to tell that Diggs-Void was wanted," Cole said. "Then, late last night, officers from Hackensack saw him walking in the area of his home and secured him until Negron and Liriano picked him up.
"It just again shows how agencies work well together for the common good."
Diggs-Void was being held in the Bergen County Jail, charged with armed robbery and weapons offenses, pending a detention hearing.
A one-time special needs student, Diggs-Void has been charged with assaulting police and robbery, among other offenses -- and was arrested seven times in seven months last year, records show.
He was busted on pot charges earlier this year in Rochelle Park.
