CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- An 83-year-old Rockland County woman who went missing on Easter Sunday was found walking along the main commercial drag in Cliffside Park a few blocks from where she used to live, police told Daily Voice.
Detectives from Orangetown spotted Victoria Desimone of Orangeburg on Monday across from the new Towne Centre shopping mall/residential high-rise on Anderson Avenue -- barely a quarter-mile from her former home on Shannon Place -- after conferring with local police.
"She got on a bus to go to Mass and never returned," Cliffside Park Police Chief Richard Gaito told Daily Voice on Tuesday. "She ended up here."
Orangetown detectives took Desimone to Nyack Hospital, Gaito said.
