“Danielle went into emergency surgery with bleeding on the brain and then was put into a medically induced coma,” states a GoFundMe page created to raise funds for the Lodi elementary school teacher and her family.

Doctors told the family that long term side effects could affect her physical health and she will need an unsure amount of rehabilitation, and will remain in intensive care for weeks.

“Even the best insurance barely covers the whole cost of a complicated hospital birth like a C-Section. Add an emergency brain surgery 10 days later leading to weeks in the ICU and perhaps months of recovery time. This young family will find themselves in financial crisis,” the page states.

The page garnered nearly $16,000 in donations and dozens of messages of support by Thursday afternoon.

“You are one of my oldest friends and I love you like a sister. I know you will get better,” Matt Schrieks wrote.

Danielle’s husband, Jeff, a barber at Plaza Salon in Paramus, is now the sole caregiver for their 2-year-old son Joey and their newborn daughter Gia Rose, and will be out of work “as Danielle continues to fight for her life,” the page states.
