BOGOTA, N.J. -- The community is invited to meet the Bogota mayor and take a walk on Saturday, Nov. 16.
In honor of Bogota’s official declaration as a “Stigma-Free Zone,” Bogota Beautiful is hosting the 2nd Annual Walk with the Mayor event. The purpose of the occasion is to promote mental health and wellness in the community.
Mayor Christopher Kelemen will lead the 1.75 mile walk beginning at 10 a.m. at Olsen Park.
Residents are encouraged to bring the whole family and enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of walking. The event free and open to all.
Everyone will meet at the park's pavilion. Groups are invited to wear team or matching t-shirts.
"Stigma-Free" is a Bergen County initiative that aims to reduce the reproach associated with mental illness. It is dedicated to raising awareness of the disease of mental illness and create a culture where affected residents feel supported to seek treatment.
