The trip will run from Oct. 9-16 and will help the Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley in its effort to build five single-family homes in the Spring Creek Estates subdivision in West Kalispell.

Three of the homes will be under construction in October, when the trip is scheduled to take place.

Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley was incorporated in 1989 and has built 58 homes for qualified families.

The median household income in the city is $47,800, and the median price of a home is $233,800 with 18 percent of residents living in poverty.

Volunteers help in all aspects of new construction, including framing, roofing, painting, insulation, installing windows and doors, as well as much more.

All volunteers must be age 16 or older, with volunteers younger than 18 requiring a guardian to accompany them.

The trip costs $1,575, which does not include airfare.
