Hazardous household waste can be brought to collection sites in Moonachie, Paramus and Mahwah. 

Household hazardous waste collection sites are as follows:

  • Paramus: Bergen Community College, 400 Paramus Road (Entry via Paramus Rd. only): Sunday, April 17, June 26, Oct. 16.
  • Mahwah: Bergen County Campgaw Mountain Reservation, 200 Campgaw Road, Mahwah, Saturday, May 14, July 23, Sept. 10.
  • Moonachie: Bergen County Utilities Authority (Foot of Empire Blvd.), Moonachie, Saturday, March 12, Nov. 12, .

All collection sites are open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.

This is free of charge for Bergen County residents only; ID is required.

Businesses must pre-register prior to attending BCUA-sponsored hazardous waste collection events. A disposal fee will be charged and collected.
