Cliffside Park Animal Shelter Organizes Comedy Night Fundraiser

CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- The Bergen County Protect and Rescue Foundation will host its Third Comedy Night Fundraiser to benefit homeless dogs and cats in its care Thursday, March 31, at the American Legion Hall Post 116 in Edgewater.

The event will feature comic Harris Bloom of "CBS Early Show" and Stewie to the Rescue. In addition, Brian Jian and Davin Rosenblatt will be the featured comics.

A buffet dinner will be provided by Outback Steak House. The donation fee for this event is $50 per person, which includes entrance, dinner, dessert, water, soda, coffee and the show. Reserve seating is requested, as seating is limited.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; dinner starts at 7 p.m. and the event ends at 11:30 p.m.

Bergen County Protect and Rescue is at 302 2nd Street, Cliffside Park. It's an all-volunteer, nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue shelter whose mission is to protect and rescue as many of the lost, stray and unwanted domestic animals as possible.

With the professional use of humane traps and well-planned trapping techniques, the shelter is also able to capture and relocate various wildlife to safer locations. It also seeks medical assistance and rehabilitation for any animals that are injured.

In 2014, Bergen County Protect and Rescue took into its care 467 animals and adopted out 441.
