Cliffside Park Recreation Starts Youth Sports Signups

CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. – The Cliffside Recreation Department is to open registration for soccer, football and cheerleading for the upcoming fall season set to run from September until mid-November.

Registration will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday, June 6 and from 9 a.m. – noon on June 11, 18 and 25.

The registration is to take place at the Recreation Department on Oakdene Avenue (West Grantwood Park).

The soccer program is open to students of Cliffside Park in grades 1-8. All games are to be played on the turf field at West Grantwood Park on Oakdene Avenue. There are several divisions: the Clinic Division (grades 1-2), the Junior Division (grades 3-5), and the Senior Division (grades 6-8).

Students in the Cliffside Park football program will be playing in the Bi-County Junior Scholastic Football League along with teams from Fort Lee, Weekhawken, Ridgefield, Palisades Park, River Dell, Westwood and Secaucus. It is open to children in grades 2-8 from Cliffside Park and Fairview. All home games will be played on the West Grantwood Park turf field on Friday nights. Divisions include: the Pee Wee Division (grades 2-4), the Junior Division (grades 5-6) and the Senior Division (grades 7-8). Learn more about the league here .

Cheerleading is open to Cliffside Park and Fairview residents in grades 2-8. The cheerleaders will be cheering for the borough’s football teams. Divisions include: the Pee Wee Division (grade 4), the Junior Division (grades 5-6) and the Senior Division (grades 7-8). Competitive cheerleading also is available for fourth-grade students and older by try-out only.

According to the borough, program fees are:

  • Soccer: $50
  • Football: $65
  • Cheeleading: $50
