Registration Nears For Cliffside Park Kindergarten Program

CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. -- Registration for Cliffside Park's kindergarten program for the 2016-17 school year will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 23 through Thursday, Feb. 25 (Tuesday -Thursday), 9:30 - 11:30 and 1 - 2:30 p.m. at School No. 4 in Cliffside Park.

To enter kindergarten,, a child must be five years old on or before Oct. 1, 2016.

Parents who plan to enroll their children -- new to the district -- into kindergarten are to follow these guidelines and schedule:

To enter kindergarten,, a child must be five years old on or before Oct. 1, 2016. If your child is already registered in the district's pre-K program, you are not required to re-register.

At the time of registration, parents are to present all of the following documents:

1) Four proofs of residency

A. A deed showing ownership in Cliffside Park along with your tax bill.

B. A copy of lease or nortarized letter from landlord, a recent rent receipt, landlord's phone number and number of occupants in dwelling.

C. Most recent PSE&G bill, telephone bill, etc.

2) Your child's original birth or baptismal certificate.

Medical

A physical examination form must completed by the child's physician dated after Sept. 1, 2015, and must be presented at the time of registration.

Must show proof of immunizations as required by state law. This must included month, date and year in which the immunizations were administered and have the physicians signature or stamp. These documents will be reviewed by the district's nurse during registration.

Kindergarten medical

A. Diphtheria-Whooping Cough-Tetanus (DPT) -- Four doses with last one administered on or after the fourth birthday or any five doses.

B. Polio -- Three doses with last one administered on or after the fourth birthday or any four doses.

C. Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) -- Two doses with one administered on or after the first birthday or laboratory evidence of immunity.

D. Varicella Vaccine (Chicken Pox) -- One dose administered on or after the first birthday or laboratory evidence of immunity.

E. Hepatitis B -- Three doses.

Please submit any information concerning your child's history of illness, which may help the district better understand your child's needs.

No child will be officially registered until all of the above requirements are met.
