"This is a great program as students prepare for PARCC," Schools Supt. Michael J. Romagnino said.

Cliffside Park Elementary School No. 6 is inviting families of third- through fifth-graders to come from 6-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9-16 for hands-on sessions sponsored by the Cliffside Park Board of Education.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center is a federally funded program supported by the New Jersey Department of Education for out- of-school time programs in the state.

Students have the opportunity to explore math in a relaxed atmosphere.

Volunteers will be available to babysit younger siblings as parents and youngsters explore concepts with blocks, beans, toothpicks and other tools to understand the meaning of numbers and spatial concepts.

Students will work on measurement, geometry, probability, estimation, world problems and logic, decimals, calculators, fractions and careers.
