He convinced girls more than a third his age that he was an MTV talent scout, then took them to sleazy motels and had sex with them. Hudson County detectives collected enough evidence to put him away for a long, long time. Instead, Adonis Giron pleaded guilty to a single instance of raping a 12-year-old girl at the Fountain Motel in North Bergen.
In exchange, authorities dropped similar charges involving two 13-year-old girls.
The single Colombian immigrant will spend at least 8 1/2 years in state prison before he’ll be eligible for parole, under the deal he struck with prosecutors. He will also be branded a Megan’s Law offender.
Adonis, 43, exploited “the fantasies of young girls who wanted to be stars,” said Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Steven Dill.
On his MySpace page, Giron, of 48th Street in Union City, says he’s 26 and makes $100,000 to $250,000 as an MTV talent manager. In real life, “Javier Mtv Music” didn’t even have a job, authorities said.
Giron admitted promising the girls he’d connect them with people who could land them work. The only doors that opened for them were to fleabag motels.
Eventually, the 12-year-old girl’s parent caught on and called police.
Giron remains held on $300,000 bail in the Hudson County jail in Kearny. Sentencing is set for Feb. 26 in Jersey City.
