Tinted windows on GWB lead to heroin bust of North Bergen man

ANOTHER CVP SCOOP: It began with a stop for excessively tinted windows, continued with a “rambling” tale of making a wrong turn in Paramus and ending up on the George Washington Bridge — and led to the discovery of 50 decks of heroin, Port Authority officials said today.

Port Authority Police Police Officer Ryan Ust was on patrol just after 6 o’clock last night he spotted the 2004 Ford Sedan, the authority’s Steve Coleman told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

He pulled over the driver, 37-year-old Kenneth Harden of North Bergen, who gave Ust “a rambling story about dropping someone off at work and then making a wrong turn in Paramus and ending up in New York,” Coleman said.

Ust received permission to search the vehicle and found the heroin, he said.

If sold separately on the street, 40 decks could yield anywhere from $320 to $600, by most estimates.

Harden was being held on $75,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute the drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.

He also had an outstanding warrant out of Edgewater.
