Authorities found the contraband during a search of the car and Hamilton Avenue home of Dennis Santiago, 33, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

They charged Santiago with drug possession, aggravated assault on police, resisting arrest and evidence tampering, he said.

Also charged on drug possession and evidence tampering charges were Dalila Delgado, a 36-year-old administrative assistant from Morningside Avenue, the prosecutor said.

The joint investigation was conducted by members of his Narcotic Task Force and Fairview police following a tip, he said.

The search turned up 11 bags of the cocaine, along with the marijuana, cash and “various prescription medications in an unlabeled prescription bottle,” Grewal said.

Both remained held in the Bergen County Jail pending Nov 8 first appearances in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, he said.
