Officers Marcus Credle and Leland Rogan were working heightened-security posts when they responded to a call of a “man down” on the train platform at 4:35 p.m.

After finding a good Samaritan attempting CPR, they retrieved a defibrillator, shocked the victim once and revived him, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

“The man regained a pulse and began breathing on his own,” he said.

An EMS unit took him to Jersey City Medical Center, where he admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
