Daniel Escobar, 27, was being held on $105,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with a variety of drug possession counts.

Detectives armed with a search warrant found marijuana and pot-laced baked goods, along with a digital scale, heat sealer and various plastic baggies used to package drugs, Police Chief Richard Gaito told Daily Voice this morning.

They also seized $22,361 in suspected drug proceeds that will subject to possible forfeiture.

Gaito's investigators began watching Escobar late last month after receiving a tip, the chief said.

One by one, they picked off people who he said were carrying drugs after leaving his home -- a 19-year-old Washington Township woman, a 27-year-old Englewood Cliffs man and two Fort Lee men, one 27 and the other 31 -- Gaito said.
