FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- The body of a Fairview man reported missing after a night out was found beneath a Jersey City railroad trestle, authorities told Daily Voice on Tuesday.
The body of Luis Garcia, 27, was found late last week off Route 139 near the Tonnelle Avenue circle, Police Chief Martin Kahn said.
The cause of death wasn't immediately determined, he said.
Formal next-of-kin notifications were being completed Tuesday, after a relative identified his body, the chief said.
Garcia was last seen the morning of July 15 in the Journal Square area across from the White Castle on Kennedy Boulevard, up the hill from where his body was found, loved ones said.
He previously was reported seen at the Lucky 7 Tavern on 2nd Street in downtown Jersey City and at the bar Pint on Wayne Street.
ANYONE with information about Garcia, or the circumstances surrounding his death, is asked to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office: (201) 795-6400 .
