Fairview Trucker Charged In Pregnant Woman Toy Gun Sex Assault

FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- A Salvadoran national from Fairview was charged with sexually assaulting a pregnant woman while pointing what proved to be a toy gun at her.

Oscar Ramirez, 23, was taken into custody after authorities said the partially clothed woman came to boroug police headquarters before dawn Monday and said he forced her to give him oral sex at gunpoint.

An investigation with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit led to Ramirez's arrest on charged of first-degree aggravated assault with a weapon, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Tuesday night.

The 5-foot-9-inch, 220-pound Ramirez remained held on $300,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

A first appearance was scheduled for Wednesday in Superior Court in Hackensack.
