The burglar had entered Sycamore Street residence through a side door sometime between 6: and 8 p.m. June 23, while the residents were out, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Detectives Chris Zuck and Robert Brack located the evidence and sent it to the New Jersey State Police Crime Lab, Ehrenberg said.

Last week, they got a match: convicted burglar Derek Edwards,he said.

Edwards, who was sent to the Bergen County Jail last November while facing charges out of several towns -- mostly for burglary -- had his combined bail boosted to $257,000.

Paramus detectives charged him with burglary.
