Jamil Graham, 41, of Englewood Cliffs was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with child endangerment, after registering a .22 blood-alcohol level, Police Chief Richard Gaito told Daily Voice.

"The child was unharmed," Gaito said.

State child welfare authorities placed the girl with a family member, he said.

The girl called just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday and said "her father was passed out in the vehicle," Gaito said.

The Bergen County Communications Center pinged the cellphone, which led Officer J.J. McGuire to the car near the corner of Palisade and Lafayette avenues, Gaito said.

McGuire found the girl, Graham and a half-empty bottle of vodka in the car, he said.

Graham was arrested several times in the mid-90s on charges that include assaulting police and weapons possession, records show.

Besides the criminal child endangerment charge, Graham received several motor vehicle summonses, the chief said.
