Fairview police continue to get significant help from vigilant citizens, as they did around 10:30 Wednesday night, when someone called and described the two shady-looking characters carrying the tools.

At the same time, off-duty Fairview Detective Michael Hartmann spotted two men checking car-door handles as they walked up 7th Street. He immediately called headquarters.

Detectives Michael Martic and Officer Bryan Yannuzzi responded and grabbed both: Paul Bussanich of Cliffside Park and Jason Morin of Fairview were charged with burglary and theft.

Police said they also charged Bussanich with possession of heroin and paraphernalia. He was high at the time, they said.

Both 24 years old, Bussanich is being held on $15,000 bail and Morin $7,500 at the Bergen County Jail, pending an initial Municipal court hearing on Wednesday.
