Tyrone Goins, 37, of Hackensack and his brother, 32-year-old Travis Goins of Englewood, were circling the same Cliffside Park blocks for awhile on Thursday night when detectives confirmed a burglary on Washington Avenue and took them into custody, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Members of the ad hoc squad included police detectives from Fort Lee, Paramus, Cliffside Park, Tenafly, Saddle River, and Teaneck who worked together for three months, sharing information about burglaries in their towns and targeted the Goins brothers, the prosecutor said.

Both remained held in the Bergen County Jail pending detention hearings on burglary charges – one involving the Washington Avenue home and another on West End Avenue on April 27, Grewal said.

“The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected, he said.
