BOGOTA, N.J. -- A borough man was hospitalized and his live-in girlfriend arrested tonight after police said she stabbed him in the front of the neck with a pair of scissors.
Officers responding to several calls to Cane Street around 7:30 p.m. found Essence Nivea Coleman Whitlock, 19, holding her 21-year-old boyfriend's neck, saying that he'd been stabbed.
They grabbed the 5-foot-3-inch, 140-pound Whitlock and an ambulance took him to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that Detective Capt. James Sepp told CLIFFVIEW PILOT weren't considered life-threatening. They also recovered the scissors, he said.
Whitlock was being held on $10,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated assault and weapons possession.
