Bogota Police: Teaneck Ex-Con Wanted For Weapons Assault Resisted

BOGOTA, N.J. -- An ex-con from Teaneck wanted on aggravated assault charges with a weapon fought with Bogota police before being subdued and arrested, authorities said.

Officers approached Steven Daurio, 40, after spotting him on railroad property on Saturday, Police Chief Daniel Maye said Tuesday afternoon.

They arrested him on charges of resisting arrest, hindering and trespassing.

Daurio has a record of dozens of arrests and various convictions on assaults, threats, weapons offenses and other crimes dating back 20 years, record show.

He remained held on $15,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail on the Bogota charges, plus a detainer out of Hudson County.
