Bogota PD: North Carolina Mover For Hire Swipes 3 Guns

BOGOTA, N.J. -- A North Carolina man hired as a mover was arrested by Bogota police, who said he swiped three guns from the victim.

Jamil S. Hicks, 38, of Wilmington, NC was carrying one of the handguns in his waistband when police arrested him Saturday night on River Road, Sgt. Geoffrey Cole told Daily Voice.

Hicks, Cole said, "rifled through the property of a person who hired him to help them move" and took a .45 Glock, a 9mm Sig Sauer and .38 Ruger.

He was charged with illegal weapons possession and ordered held in the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Central Judicial Municipal Court.
