Services Set For Fort Lee Native Cyrus Ashtyani Killed In Crash

A funeral was held Thursday, June 21 for Cyrus John Ashtyani of Montvale, who died on June 15 in a Woodcliff Lake motorcycle accident. He was 21 years old.

Interment was at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. 

Ashtyani, a Bergen Catholic graduate who worked as an Internet sales consultant at Liberty Subaru, was heading south when he lost control of his Yamaha R6 at milepost 169.6, NJ State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

Born and raised in Montvale, Cyrus attended the Montvale elementary schools. He attended Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey and graduated from Bergen Catholic High School in 2014. 

He continued his education at the University of Connecticut and Bergen Community College in Paramus. 

During his elementary and high school years, Cyrus enjoyed soccer and played on many different school and club teams. 

Most recently, he enjoyed working at Liberty Subaru in Emerson. 

Surviving are his parents, Dr. Fariborz and Laura Ashtyani, his sister Lilah; his maternal grandparents Caroline and Charles Ciochetto, his aunt and uncle Chris and Nancy Amiaga and his cousin Emma. He is Cyrus also survived by his aunt and uncle Kambiz and Fazaleh Ashtyani, his aunt and uncle Hormoz and Pari Ashtyani, his cousins Nima and Roozbeh; and his loving companion Cristina Cabrera and her family.
