CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. – Matteo Squillace, of Cliffside Park, died on Dec. 5 in Saddle River. He was 87.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1928 to Giuseppe and Domenica Squillace in Pellegrina, Italy. He worked as a construction worker for Local 28 in Fairview once he arrived in the U.S.
Squillace was predeceased by his wife Barbara and grandson Tommy.
He is survived by three children, Domenica Zagari and her husband Vincenzo; Joseph Squillace and his wife Rose; and Maria Scordo and her husband Joseph, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Tomaso and his wife Flavia, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, with funeral services on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church in Fairview.
Interment will follow at Fairview Mausoleum in Fairview.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of Grace Church in Fairview.
