Gloria Cigolini, 88, Fairview Resident

FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- Gloria Cigolini of Fairviewpassed away on Nov. 4following a brief illness. She was 88.

Cigolini was a1945 graduate of Cliffside Park High School and an avid lover of the arts and theatre.

Cigolini was also an active member of the community. In the 1960s, Cigolini volunteered as a member of the Executive Headquarters Staff of the Bergen County Republican Organization (BCRO) playing a key role in the political party’s success. 

Cigolini later worked with the American Cancer Society for 25 years prior to retiring.

Ms. Cigolini’s eldest daughter, Jane, Director of Human Services for Bergen County of Ramsey said that her mother “led a full, free spirited life and instilled a passion for theatre and the arts in her children and grandchildren”.

Cigolini survived by her second husband Remo Framarin; daughters Jane Cigolini and Gloria DePietro of Red Hook, N.Y.; son James (Elaine) of Ridgewood and grandchildren Dustin Linter of Mahwah, Thomas Linter III (Jule) of Englewood, Kevin Cigolini and Erica Cigolini Davenport (Michael) of Ridgewood, Giuliana DePietro of Rhinebeck, N.Y. and Bianca DePietro of Philadelphia, Pa.

She is also survived by sister Imelda of Atlanta, Ga. and brother Angelo of Setauket, N.Y.. She was predeceased by her first husband, Angelo Cigolini, sisters Lucia and Norma and a brother, Peter killed during World War II.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the A.K.Macagna Funeral Home, located at 495 Anderson Ave. in Cliffside Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro.
