John Rimi, 55, said the incident occurred last May at the Rodeway Inn in Point Pleasant, according to the report.

"After coming out of the shower with bare feet, the plaintiff stepped with his right foot onto the needle, causing the needle to pierce his skin and his body, at which time he was injured orthopedically, neurologically and neuropsychiatrically," the suit states, according to the report.

The suit that was filed earlier this month in Bergen County Superior Court, also alleges motel workers hid evidence from police, the story says.

Rimi is seeking a jury trial, punitive damages, attorney fees and court costs, the story says.
