The small beagle named Simon got away last Saturday while being taken from Soft Landings Road To Rescue in South Carolina to his new home, the organization's Sandy Jones said.

"He is very sweet but very scared," she said.

"We are reaching out to every shelter, rescue and organization in the area and surrounding areas," Jones said early Friday. "We have people out at the center with flyers and looking for Simon

Also we have a recovery team in place that has set up feeding stations in the area, but no sighting of Simon."

Simon is three years old, 25 pounds, neutered and micro-chipped.
