The husband and wife — and musical duo — will perform "A Love Affair With The Movies" at the Bogota Public Library on Thursday at noon.
The show features many magical and dynamic songs from Hollywood's most memorable productions such as "The Wizard of Oz," "Fame" and more.
Daily Voice sat down with Evans, a musician and producer, and Zelnik, a "contemporary of Bill Evans," to learn more about their life in the entertainment industry and at home.
DV: How did you meet?
Evans: We met in New York City. Joel was friends with a bass-playing chiropractor who lived near my building. He matched us up immediately!
DV: What's your favorite part about performing and working together?
Evans/Zelnik: We most enjoy working together while performing for appreciative audiences.
DV: What's your advice to young performers looking to make it to Broadway?
Evans/Zelnik: Know your strengths, be versatile and build your presentation around these characteristics. Apply basic sales techniques and networking. Give yourself a realistic timeline for success and stick with it. Careers in performance are not for everyone.
DV: Anything else you want to include?
Evans/Zelnik: Successful performers are disciplined; able to work with all types of people and situations. They are prepared for anything. Don’t spend your life working on something that is not going anywhere. Know if and when it’s time to quit.
More on Francine & Joel:- Francine taught herself piano in two hands at three years old. She has produced hundreds of shows including “DESTINATION: Las Vegas – The Musical Journey,” which played for over five months in NYC. She has appeared with big band in just about every NYC hotel ballroom and has performed internationally holding a B.M. from the University of the Pacific and an M.A. from Montclair State University.

His latest recording, “Live At Steinway Piano Gallery” was released in Japan and the U.S.
