The emergency medical service/basic life support ambulance service is organized and licensed under the fire department.
A full-time director of emergency medical service and seven full-time emergency medical technicians and a group of part-time emergency medical technicians staffs it.
Two emergency medical technicians are required to staff the ambulance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All personnel are members of the fire department as certified emergency medical technicians.
Applicants must:
- be at least 18 years of age.
- have valid EMT certification.
- be in good physical condition and be able to lift.
- never been convicted of a crime or have a criminal record.
- have a valid New Jersey state drivers license
- have EMS experience
