Altman is now a Cliffside Park resident, but she was born in 1933 in Romania, in a little town called Podu-Turcului, which translates into "The Bridge of the Turks." She came to America in 1980.

She endured the Nazi occupation, followed by the liberation by the Russian Communist Party, and 12 years of waiting to emigrate to her homeland of Israel.

"Calatori" translates into "Travelers," and Altman "has indeed made a wonderful adventure while traveling and navigating the waves of her life," a news release notes. She hopes that the book will inspire others to always keep moving forward and stay on their path in life.

The event will be from 7-8 p.m. The library is located at 53 Union Ave.
