Aroch Bolanos, one of the organizations' newest members, earned the Mark Weber Legacy Award given nationally to the best Mission Continues Fellows in the Country for serving fellow veterans.

"He will receive the award in Georgia," said VFW Commander Alex Hernandez. "It's important for veterans to have these kinds of programs — to have a sense of community when they return."

The Mission Continues program empowers veterans to face the challenges of adjusting to civilian life. The organization redeploys veterans in communities, so that their shared legacy will be one of action and service.

Mission Continues Fellowship program harnesses veterans’ strengths, skills, and compassion by having them work with non-profit organizations on a regular basis. The second program offered by the organization is the The Mission Continues’ Service Platoons. It brings teams of veterans together with partners at the local level.

Bolanos will travel to Georgia early next year to accept the award.
