Muscle Maker Grill provides "healthier fuel for your active lifestyle," for athletes, those getting in shape – or wanting to stay there – and just folks wanting to eat healthier.
Throughout the day, the store will offer samples and giveaways from a prize wheel, including discounts and branded gear.
Herzlich will stop in from 3-4 p.m. to meet with customers, take pictures and sign autographs.
"We are excited to celebrate the five-year anniversary of our Clifton location," said owner Tom Buckley.
We want to thank our loyal customers who have supported us over the last five years by offering a day filled with free samples of some of our most popular items, as well as fun giveaways. We love being a part of the Clifton community and look forward to celebrating – and serving our guests – for many years to come.
Muscle Maker Grill will also donate 10 percent of the day's proceeds to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, which helps families tackle childhood cancer by providing financial, emotional and practical support.
Herzlich is a cancer survivor, too. He missed a year of college football while battling a rare bone cancer but went on to play in his senior year and ultimately signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent.
Founded in 1995, Muscle Maker Grill now has more than 50 locations. Its goal is to make healthy eating convenient, affordable and enjoyable. The menu offers lean, protein-based dishes, including salads, wraps, sandwiches, "power pastas," protein shakes and smoothies.
There are carb-free, gluten-free and vegetarian options.
The restaurant also offers a meal plan program, which customers can order by phone, online or in-store, for pickup or delivery.
Muscle Maker Grill is located at 1043 Bloomfield Ave., in the Styertowne Shopping Center. It's open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
