“The people who build these buildings and made this organization — there are many that gave their lives to make this organization what it is today," said Bill Puntasecca, a longtime member who has been running VFW events in Bergen County for years. "And that is one thing that you can't say about 90 percent of the charities that are out there."

The group will open the post's doors at 6:30 p.m., offer food and beverages, and have the first act on stage by 7 p.m.

For $20 per person, attendees will see four retro-inspired bands — No Sweat, That 60s Band, Four Man Trio and The Lost Souls.

Concert proceeds will help veterans who have served overseas through their outreach initiatives, by establishing relationships, and by offering a relaxing environment for social gatherings.

“We just hope to keep that in everyone's memory and we hope that stirs support," Puntasecca said.
