Curbside Confections was launched in April by Danielle DeVincenzo of Hillsdale and Tara Lyons of Hawthorne, who met 10 years ago at the same healthcare company.

The truck poses a stark contrast in the corporate lives of both friends — Lyons comes from a background in healthcare management and DeVincenzo is a licensed nursing home administrator and licensed social worker who helps families navigate the healthcare system in the hardest of times.

"We want to be a part of joyous times in people's lives," said DeVincenzo, who came up with the idea because she wanted a candy truck at her upcoming wedding.

"We want to write those chapters, in addition to helping people in their hard times."

Everything on the truck is customizable.

For example, Curbside Confections will be dishing up all things blue for an upcoming baby shower. They recently were booked for a birthday party in which all of the candy on the truck was popular in the same decade that the birthday boy was born.

Curbside Confections doesn't have a menu, only because the list of candy would be too overwhelming, the business owners explained.

They say it's just as much fun for them as it is for their clients.

"It's really so cool," Lyons said.

"We're so excited to go to these parties — we're literally two kids in a candy store , and it's been so great to see our clients and their guests so excited and genuinely interested in what we're doing."
